MIB Services, an HVAC contractor, wanted a vehicle wrap for their single-van fleet. They wanted something that would pop off the black van and was noticable at every angle.

Process

This was my first vehicle project and I was excited to start, but wanted to have a clear outcome that would stand out on both the van and the larger market that they serviced. I chose to keep things simple so that all elements would be easily seen, especially at a glance, as that may be the only amount of advertising time offered to a viewer. The logo originally had a background that I removed for clarity, and the owner agreed.

For the business cards I wanted to create distinctive cards that were informative with broad appeal. The design stemmed from the juxtaposed logo, and created a balance and sense of movement. For the back I chose to off-center the logo to support that uniqueness.

Challenges

The van’s back doors’ design was the biggest challenge - it was a stylized representation of the business’s work and a play on the motif of “your home is safe in our hands”. Honestly it was a bit of a branding risk, but that’s the side that received the most compliments from customers.
