Brief
A Battery Store was bought by a new owner who wanted to bring in new products to appeal to a wider audience while still retaining the business clients and everyday customers the store enjoyed. The branding had to match the new owner’s enthusiasm for sleek design and maintain a fun, casual place where everyone was welcome.

Process
I designed everything here - the logo, storefront, apparel, internal signage, promotional materials, and stickers. This was a huge project spanning many months.
For the logo I designed the mountains in two simple B’s (for Battery Bar), as the store is located on an inclined hill and mountains promote a sense of casual adventure. The internal signage leaned heavily into this theme of spaciousness, with an appeal that the store began selling products outside of batteries that help customers be prepared wherever they traveled. The apparel matched the theme - PFG button downs and polyester shirts for breath-ability and comfort, and matching a casual, outdoor nature.
For the external window decals the goal was to showcase important products were created in a functional, line-art style for ease of understanding at a glance.

Challenges
The largest challenge was blending the adventurous, destination-focused theme with the reality of concrete items such as power tools, generators and batteries. It was important not to lose focus of the needs of the market that the store served so clear, branded products were used for the window decals. An ”avalanche of products” were presented to support the brand and make it clear to customers to what was sold inside. Apparel was outdoorsy but practical, with lots of pockets for the mechanics to store loose bolts.
